The Resort. Gracious. Elegant. Legendary. Founded in the 17th century
and family-run for generations, This Resort blends Old World charms with
warm hospitality, and the amenities expected by today's traveler. The
luxury, country club setting on more than 300 lush tropical acres features
three picture-perfect beaches, 18-hole golf course and pro shop, 8 tennis
courts (two lit for night play) and pro shop, a health spa and fitness center,
water sports center, two swimming pools and four restaurants.
The Resort, family owned and operated for 53 years, offers new activities
for teens and new family accommodations for the upcoming Summer 2001, April
16 - December 21. Guests 17 and under get a host of freebies: a full
breakfast every day; golf and tennis clinics; kayak, snorkel, and sunfish
outings; a basketball court; beach volleyball; beachside ping pong and their
own game room with video games. And, free accommodations! The catch? None,
but they must stay in the same room with their parents, who can choose the
resort's roomy, newly renovated family-style accommodations.
Available only during summer are two oceanfront rooms, each with private
bath and patio, connecting to form a two-bedroom suite for a family of six.
From April 15 through December 21 the second oceanfront room is offered at
a 50% discount for a total cost of $450 per night for the two-bedroom suite.
[Normally, the per night rate for one oceanfront room is $300 (summer) and
$475 (winter).]
Families can also choose renovated and remodeled two-bedroom Family Ocean
View Cottages, which sleep five people. Each cottage has a patio that fronts
a spacious lawn and views of the Caribbean Sea, a master bedroom with king
bed and window seat bed, and a second room with two twin beds. From April
15 through December 21, the Cottage rate is $270 per night.
The Resort earns its reputation as a "playground for kids of all ages"
with its luxurious, country club setting, offering 340 acres, three beaches,
18-hole golf course and pro shop, 8 tennis courts (two lit for night play)
and pro shop, fitness room and two swimming pools. Its fine dining restaurants
are rated among the island's best.
While adults and teens enjoy the recreational amenities, kids 4 to 12
head to Kids Camp for fun and adventures like learning about geckos, kite
flying, fishing, swimming and beach activities. The supervised program also
includes quiet time with coloring and storytelling. Kids' Camp is scheduled
year-round from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and is free of charge. Other
rates during Summer 2000 range from $195 for a Great House Mountain View
Ocean room to $370 for the spectacular oceanside Rooms and Suites, which
all accommodate families.
Family Friendly Accommodations Rooms and Suites
All rooms have small refrigerators. Each spacious guest room can accommodate
up to four people with two queen beds. Some offer even more space and
value:
Majestic Beachside Rooms offer the ultimate in beachside luxury. Spaciously
sleeping up to five (maximum), utilizing a window seat bed, these elegant
units have adjoining patios or balconies to connect families requiring two
units.
Family Two Bedroom Oceanfront Summer Special offers two complete, connecting,
Deluxe Ocean Front rooms, each with its own bath and private patio. This
summer offering saves you 50% off the second room. This includes up to three
adults (maximum) over 18 years old. Bedding choices include:

Family Ocean View Cottages offer two bedrooms and one bath. The
master bedroom has a king bed and a window seat bed. The second bedroom has
two twin beds. These cottages sleep a maximum of five. Located on the hillside
between the Great House and the beach, each suite has a patio that fronts
a spacious lawn and sea views.
Specialty Suites:
The Ficus Suite has two bedrooms. It is located above the Grotto beach
and pool. The Ficus Suite features a master bedroom with king bed, bath with
whirlpool tub and spacious patio overlooking the sea. The second bedroom
features two queen beds and a full bath.
The Best Suite is a luxurious favorite located above the Grotto beach
and pool, featuring a master bedroom with four-poster king bed, full bath
with double shower and separate tub. The sitting room has two day beds and
a half bath. Spacious patio overlooks the pool and beach. This suite sleeps
four. You may add connecting to the Best Room for sleeping a maximum of eight
people.
The Best Room is an elegantly-appointed room that can connect with the
Best Suite. The Best Room features two queen beds, spacious bath with double
shower and tub, picture window and patio overlooking the pool and beach.
