Splash Down
Water Rides and Slides
Sky Splash - One of the most popular attractions at Sesame Place, Sky
Splash allows up to six guests to ride together in large raft-like tubes
as they glide under an array of whimsical oversized toys, such as an 8-foot-tall
Rubber Duckie, giant Tinker toys and much more. Rising more than 6 stories
high, this exhilarating ride provides thrills and surprises every moment,
taking riders from gentle "sky" ponds with whirlpool-like jet streams to
accelerator slides with speeds up to 20 feet per second, culminating with
a final plunge into a pool of water.
Slimey's Chutes - A family favorite, Slimey's Chutes (named for Oscar the
Grouch's best friends, Slimey) is a bright yellow and white, double slide
inner-tube ride ideal for young children.
Big Bird's Rambling River - This ever-popular attraction is a relaxing,
fun-filled water adventure that is perfect for kids and adults alike. Guests
leisurely float in inner-tubes along a 1,000-foot waterway throughout Sesame
Island past bubbling, swirling waters, under palm trees with water-filled
tipping coconuts and through waterfalls and spraying geysers.
Teeny Tiny Tidal Waves - Located in Twiddlebug Land (presented by Kmart,)
this 10,000-square-foot wave pool is under the watchful eye of a 16-foot-tall
Ernie. With a maximum depth of 24 inches, this wave pool is ideal for younger
children.
Sesame Streak - Single or double riders are carried down two twisting chutes,
ending their journey in a splash pool. The "Streak" is designed for parents
and young children to experience together in double tubes.
More Water Rides and Slides - Sesame Place, the largest water park in the
Philadelphia area, offers additional water experiences for guests: Big Slipper
features two intertwining body flumes that lead to a splash pool finale.
Runaway Rapids offers a ride down a 350-foot-long churning, turning course
that simulates a white water inner-tubing experience. Little Bird's Rapids
is a tamer version of Runaway Rapids. Slippery Slopes takes riders down one
of four 75-foot slides into a splash pool. Amazing Mumford's Water Maze invites
children to crawl through a series of colorful tubes and nets while experiencing
a gentle spray of water.
There are unique water fun choices for younger children, too: Count's Fount
provides wading pools with nets, slides, a waterfall and sprays. Little Bird's
Birdbath, a pond with fountains and a cascading water umbrella, has an area
where parents can lounge while watching their children. Rubber Duckie Pond
offers children 5 and younger an activity slide in a shallow pool. Please
note that bathing suits are required for all water activities. Water shoes
are recommended.
Meet a Galaxy of Stars
Live Entertainment
Big Bird and Company Shows - Two lively musical revues feature the lovable,
long-legged Big Bird and many of his Sesame Street friends. Both themed shows
are produced in conjunction with Children's Television Workshop and are presented
several times daily in the park's Big Bird Theater. "You and Me at Sesame"
- This musical revue based on every child's favorite pastime, "playing,"
stars Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, Prairie Dawn, Grover, Cookie Monster and Elmo.
This salute to fun and frolicking will have guests dancing in their seats.
An upbeat welcoming song, "Hello, How Are You?" opens the show with audience
participation, followed by a phenomenal tap number "I Can Do That." Ernie
then leads the crowd in his classic "A Very Simple Dance To Do," while Cookie
Monster shares his all-out energetic philosophy on life with "Me Feel Great."
"Hip To Be Square," Bert's hilarious all-time favorite, caps this dynamic
show.
"Ring in the Fun" - Yet another musical revue show featuring song and dance
numbers, "Ring in the Fun" is a spectacular tribute to education. Many of
the favorite Sesame Street stars jump on the learning curve including Big
Bird, Bert, Ernie, the Count, Prairie Dawn, Grover and Elmo. Songs that help
the audience master new skills through participation include "Count With
The Count," "Hand Signs & and "Whatta Whatta Name Game."
"The Amazing Adventures of Elmo and Zoe" - The Sesame Production Company
presents this special-effects video adventure which gives young audience
members an opportunity to join some of their Sesame Street pals on screen
as "TV stars for a day." Led by a "television director," children can act
in a brief skit and, through chromakey technology, see themselves on TV as
their image is mixed with pre-recorded videotape. Back to USA Page |
